Nothing like some slippage to get your crutch in the shit.

What clutch do use at your power levels and usage?

What is this 4K launches that people speak of?

We need a a video of Cat bouncing it off the rev limiter and then side stepping?

when you have a carbon twin, a carbon driveshaft, forged superlite brakes with mulipiece rotors front and rear, lightweight rims wrapped in r-comps and a stripped interior, a 4k launch gets you moving pretty darn well.

Need to get a clutch sorted and struggling to pull the trigger on one. Not getting a Competition Clutch as i've seen a lot of bad reviews.

So it comes down to the Exedy 6 Speed "HD" Kit, FJK-7350HD. Or the XTreme Clutch KSU24001-1A. Beyond that, a Jim Berry special?

Has anyone used a KSU24001-1A?

I can't recommend Jim Berry clutches enough.

I used to use 1 in my RX3 many, many years ago.

My Datsun ex works rally car uses a twin plate.

And I took the Exedy Carbon fibre twin plate out of my STI spec C and replaced it with a Jim Berry single plate.

The car (spec C) is much easier to drive/launch than with the carbon twin twin plate.

If you are not planning a big power upgrade then why not get another sti clutch? They are more than up to the task if you are not side stepping every week.
Do you know how your gearbox was treated before you got it?

Where are these bad reviews on the CC clutches? Disappointed to hear that as they would have been one of my first choices....

Would rather put something with an up-rated clamping force, and a bit stronger, tougher than the stock/oem one. Just personal preference here. I am actually have a problem with the clutch at the moment, and even though there is some life left in it (it's not slipping), i need to remove it to resolve an issue.

I've explained the problem to a few people, and nobody can understand it. It's a reasonably expensive job, so trying to make the best decision obviously. Not sure how my gearbox was treated before I got it, but feels fine, isn't notchy, no reason to be concerned with it.

Regarding the CC clutches, I hear the CC are much harder to launch, tough break-in, and stink out the car a lot more too due to the type of friction material they use ?? I was pretty keen on going one of these as well initially. I dunno, maybe that's not a big issue.
