Default 99 GF8 needs new engine, is this an option?

Hey guys,

So last week my car died, I have confirmed today that the timing belt tensioner packed it in, as a result I need a new engine.

I have gotten a quote from Stechnic for a low k jdm ej205 for $2200 (just for the engine alone not including labour etc.).

However, I've just found this listing for a sti version 5 ej207 long block: Subaru Impreza WRX STI GC8 Version 5 EJ207 Long Engine | eBay

As this is from the same year sti as my wrx, would it be a direct fit in and run on the stock AU ecu?

Cheers
