Default Car running rough due to water

Hi guys

Got my car cleaned the other day and I believe water got through the vents in my V6 STI. Now the car is running rough and can't drive it. Any advise? Will the motor start running normal after it drys out for a day or 2 ? Any advice would be great.

You have water somewhere in the electrical system in the engine bay. Find it. Dry it out. Carry on.

Check the footwell on the passenger side, see if it's damp.

Better to keep driving it gently around the block a few times to get the to heat build up and evaporate the water, worked for me a few years ago when I hosed mine down.

Default Car running rough due to water

It's been 24 hours and car is still running rough and rich. Water should have dried out by now ? Would the ECU have gone haywire and need tuning again ? Seems like a air/fuel issue. Maybe a line popped off somewhere ? So annoying

Water will sit under a spark plug lead for ages. Start pulling things off one at a time and either spraying them with WD40 or giving it a blast of compressed air

Sorry guys. Just worked out with a mate of mine that the car is set up with antilag and the fog light button is what activates it . I feel like a tool but have only had the car for a week so I wasn't told about it. Anyways thanks for your help and a nice little bonus for me
