Default Quick question: Did all my02 stis come with fully forged pistons from factory?

This one has been bugging me for a while because i seem to be getting different answers from forums and mechanics.

Could anyone shed some light?

And why would subaru do this to my02 stis but go with semi-forged in the later models?

Strictly speaking that is ADM only right? As my ej207 is from a jdm my03 and i'm fairly certain it has hyper eutectic pistons.

All International/JDM Ej207's from my99/00 Version 6 STI onward have either HF-3 or HF-4 oem forgies, version 5 and earlier had to be optioned for them.

If yours has cast pistons you have an EJ205.

Definitely an ej207,the engine code is ej207dw5cr. From a v8 MY03 STi. According to NASIOC it has cast hypereuthectic pistons: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2385141

Have you had a piston out of your motor to check?

I'd take nasioc's info with a pinch of salt.

MRT say that My00 - MY06 all have forgies.

Pretty sure my old 204 didn't have forgies, I have the pistons here and there is no HF-3 or HF-4 markings on them.

I'll post a pic a bit later.
