Wow that's crappy. I thought it was my key fob playing up.

The alarm system is installed when it arrives in WA, Cannington I think they told me, and apparently City Subaru have had loads of problems with the alarms that are just loose connections so I don't know who they've got installing them.

Mine doesn't have a Sat Nav but one of the courtesy cars they gave me uses the same software I think and it seemed pretty laggy, I didn't use it properly though.

Had my service in May and they just automatically did it they didn't tell me exactly what it covered but apparently it was for a few issues!

Interesting about the lose wiring theory, I've had my Nav system/radio & display turn off a couple of times too. Hasn't done it for a while but I've reported it so the next time it goes into the dealership, they will take the unit out and grab the serial number on the back and said they just replace them with a new unit under warranty?

My alarm lags heaps there's a huge delay between pressing the key and it doing its beep thing. Hubby has mentioned to bring it up at next service, but I think I'll bring it in before hand it's getting annoying!

With the amount of problems they've had with the new alarms, I wouldn't be surprised if they recalled and replaced them all.

Mine does the lag thing too intermittently, but seems to be when I'm further away from the car. If I'm next to the window and hold my thumb on the button it's fine, so it could be the receiver; I'm not sure if it uses infrared or radio wave etc, so could be the location of it?

Let me know if they do manage to fix it though as I'll get them to add it to my list!

Out of interest, which Subaru dealer did you get yours from?

Same issue with mine. They first said faulty earth wire. Problem still happened. They then replaced the entire alarm wiring harness under the dash and it's still happening Brant series #2. De ja vu

Also I might add....Car performance I love (as I have with all my STis) but the sat nav system is absolute rubbish.

Yeah, I'm glad I decided against the premium version now.

I had a Mazda before the WRX and the sat Nav was great on that, and the alarm worked! Love the WRX though.

Was there a problem with Brant alarms on a previous model then?

I had that issue too plus the LHF door refused to unlock and had to be taken to the dealer. They fixed that issue but the car has been back twice for a rattle in that door that's been there ever since they touched it.
Other than that loving it
