Default MY15 idling issue?

Ok so my my15 purchased in October, had an issue with shuddering when cold only.

It was fixed up with an "ECU recall" so all under warranty... Cool, ran sweet for maybe 2 weeks. Now whenever I am sitting in drive it feels like the car is shuddering again.

It's going back to the dealership for this reason, but just wondering if anyone else had this problem?

Could it just need an upper engine clean? If so shouldn't this have been done at the service?

Reading various forums about the place, it seems this is a very, very common problem, even after ECU recall/flash updates.

Sorry I couldn't offer much more at this time, but Im interested to hear how you go after you visit the dealer. I suspect it'll be written off as "satisfactory".

I had the same "issue"

Took it back to the dealer only for them to reply "It's normal"

They say the engine is pulling timing out to save fuel while idling, so the misfire/shudder is a byproduct of that.

Not 100% sure I believe them, but this is the most technically advanced engine I've owned - so it might be the norm these days...

Doesn't stop the car feeling like a piece of shit while sitting at traffic lights, etc.

how does 'pulling timing' at idle save fuel? Surely it would be more economic to use the the optimum timing for engine efficiency?
