na ring Tenagah motul is great i use it in engine as well as gear box...

$85 was for oil and filter and crush washer from tenagah.
$75 i think it was (mark picked it up for me) for gear box..

cheaper and better than recpo .

What were the part numbers for the oils? I have a mate who works at Repco and can get a good price.
If he can't help could I please get the contact details for Tenagah..

Cheers Mate

have u tried fuchs?

they are pretty good

im going to whack in 10w-30 for my 2zz-ge yes i know its not a rex engine but they make a 5w-40 variant called titan supersyn and its fully synthetic

european oils are better quality apparently, the cost of it is slightly cheaper than the mobil 1 5w-50

but if you want best of the best i think motul 300v chrono 10w-40 is the way to go or redline but its bloody expensive

As anyone used Valvoline Synpower 10w40 before? If so, any good? Can get hold of this stuff for a reasonable price.

Makoto 02-08-2006 10:04 PM

i wouldnt go go valvoline myself,
used mobil 1
currently using shell helix ultra 5w/40 at the moment
got it pretty good price at kmart when having discount appx $45

WRXTASY 02-08-2006 10:23 PM

Good luck with your bearings using 5w/40 Makoto.

Do yourself a favor a grab Motul Turbolight 4100 10w/40 for the same $45 price.

Makoto 02-08-2006 10:29 PM

will consider getting motul turbolight....

The motul turbolight stuff seems pretty reasonable to me but to tell you the truth i didnt notice any difference between the other oils (Mobil 1 and the Castrol R stuff) i've used. Car drove and felt the same, engine sounded and "felt" the same.

Most important thing is to use a good filter (dont go for the shit repco ones) and remember to change your oil often and any reasonably good "performance" oil will work!
