Ive always used Castrol Edge 5w30 Fully Synthetic in my Legacy. First oil change was done by MMS when I had a 100K service and thats what they put in. I was pretty happy with the result after they put that in so Ive just kept using it since.

Ive done two oil changes since that 100K service with the last one occurring three weeks ago. Still happy with the Castrol Edge.

Always use the genuine Subaru Oil filter though. Its not expensive and it apparently performs the best.

Not to mention its smaller in size than aftermarket filters, meaning it wont foul or sit against heat-wrapped aftermarket exhaust manifolds.

Can someone clarify the difference between Motul 300V and Turbolight? Who sells this in 20L drums?

10W-40 would be suitable for daily use, plenty of spirited driving (track of course..) and the occasional MC's - In summer? If not, then what next?

Are Subaru dealerships the only place to stock Subaru oil filters?

300v is an ester-based full synthetic oil. Its a step above the Turbolight 4100.

Turbolight 4100 is good value, I used to use that, and the engine copped a belting...no dramas

i just lost my engine because of a poor oil choice.. make sure you consult your manual and look into the mods of your vehicle before taking advice of using a particular oil for your car. <-- not a knock ... just friendly advice.

i read up prolly 50 pages after having that happen to me, now i am extremely pedantic with choice.
