For a street car there are HEAPS of fairly experienced drivers backing up the mobil 1, the elf, the turbo light stuff etc. On a street car i think its just a matter of finding what works best for the car. |

My car has covered 140k and is my daily drive. It's never done a track day as far as I am aware (Previous owner kept it totally stock and really took care of it) I've had it down the drags once and the air temp was 15 degrees so no chance of cooking it then. I think the Motul 10w40 is ideal for me, but maybe not so suited to other s out there..............
So I still agree with Mat's statement. SC TER |

Mat:
Do you think some of the old timers on here might actually want to help out some of the newbies by providing USEFULL SPECIFIC INFORMATION without them doing bearings and costing them a shet load of $$$$$$$ "What works best for the car eh ?" What the Heinz Chunky Tomato Sauce in the Homestyle blend ? Maybe the Homebrand, high salt content, Plain Jane She'll be right mate stuff ? You are right about the Subaru Ninja style flavour though (flamesuit on) E4LUTION: You car has 140k on the clock, and the clearances in the engine are most likely not what they where when new. Are you getting lots of oil leaking out of the inlet pipe to your intercooler ? Catch can filling up rapidly ? The 10w40 Motul is fine for winter driving, but I would be getting a heavier (higher viscosity) oil for summer driving i.e. a 15w40 or 15w50 for a bit of extra protection. Depends on how warm and fuzzy you would like to feel. J |

Help on the Perthwrx forums... Old school times indeed
Fair call though, however my point was that he should try any of the good oils that experienced people have recomended to him. Im sure the old timers have their prefered choices to! |
