1 set of 4000's have seen me through the Dutton Rally, the Classic Rally, and a few Skid pan play dates - no cracking - and thats using a Ferodo 3000 pad.

Don't see any reason to go more fully hardcore siq than that

The Ferodo 2500's are a good all round pad like Blaise says.
I've used this combo in competition for the last 4 years without any dramas.
Why do 4000s crack?? They are the same as 5000 series, except the 5000 series has a separate hat.

I cant see how they'd crack if they are used properly i.e. cooled down and warmed up correctly.

I agree..... all new rotors should be run in slowly on the street for 200kms with street pads to temper them. If you took then straight out of the box and used them on a track day I bet they would crack 4000 or 5000

Logically if there was no "dust" i'd be surprised if the brakes were working in the first place

Who really cares about dust or no dust..

My pads can "dust" all they want, so long as i know its eating material and stopping my huffing 1550kg car.
