Default Inaccurate speedo solution?

Hey all...

Just wondered if anyone on here has ever recalibrated their speedo to show speed accurately?

My current ride indicates 110 km/hr when actual speed is 103. Not sure if it also affects the odometer, been told that the odo may be independent of the speedo as it has a separate sensor depending on model.

Back in the day you could buy a drive wheel for the speedo cable end which had a different number of teeth and were colour coded to correct inaccuracies, but apparently it's all electronic these days and uses a speed sensor.

I have contacted AISAT Instruments and they reckon they can do it but it would need some investigative work on the sensor, with up front of $350 and no guarantee of success.

Any ideas?

How did you find the correct single wire to cut in insert the device into? I used a multimeter and none of the wires increased voltage as the wheels spun. I did this with the wheels off the ground and in 3rd gear. None of them seemed like the right one. I have a 2001 bugeye wrx.

Google a pin out diagram for the ECU, and tap into the wire from there...?
