and providing everything thing is in good order and nothing has to be replaced. If there are possible bent valves, valve guides etc the price just keeps going. I think RMS wanted to sell me recondition my99 heads for $2,200 from memory. Just standard rebuilt heads.

While you are at it maybe look for shimless buckets depending n what year you have and some more aggressive cams. Why crack them to just clean them up, get some enjoyment out of it aswel ;p

I'm rebuilding, its an MY99. So it won't be to just clean em up, its to fully rebuild the donk with an ej207 bottom end because I'm selling my XR6 Turbo and going back to the rex, I've missed the old girl and it's time she had an overhaul.

i paid 1100 through Allstar to get my heads serviced, that included re-shimming to the cams

Dedlywepn i think that was you i just spoke to on the phone about the 207??

i'm currently paying southside 1200 - 1400
includes 3 angle porting & a few other flow mods
as far as i know thats more on the expensive scale, but they do an excellent job

Wouldn't all these workshops just send them out to a head specialist anyway!! So you'd be paying big markup, I've emailed Head Exchange for an indicative quote, are there any others commonly used by you guys?
