Default Heads service cost

Have some heads that look like they have been sitting around for while, bit of surface rust on the cams ect. Going to get them all cleaned up and so forth.

What sort of Price do you think to get them serviced?

Not cheap. If you want them "serviced" properly, it involves a bit more than just cleaning them.

If the heads are off another car, you'd want this done:

disassembled
acid dipped
faces skimmed
valve stem seals replaced
reassembled and all clearances set properly

Best to get a quote, but its not ultra cheap let me tell you.

If you know what car the heads came off, you might be able to get away without skimming the surface of each head and replacing valve stem seals, but the labour of disassembly and reassembly will cost a bit.

Bit cheaper, but still not super duper cheap.

I went into Head exchange in Northbridge and had a chat with the guys there, he was extremely helpful and said basically minimum cost of $100 (provding they are ok, considering yours are rusty i doubt it will be this cheap for you) to about $500-550 max. there number is 92271055.
BTW I havnt called around anywhere else yet so it might be worth doing that.

$500 to about $600 is about right for a head service, provided that they don't have to do any welding then the price goes up higher.
