I've been considering a turbo upgrade too. Sorry to hi-jack your thread, i didn't want to start another.

Let's hypothetically say money isn't the biggest issue, and you want the best.
-You're chasing a streetable setup with decent spool up with chunky mid-range and plenty of top end.
-You want a straight bolt-on and don't want to do change the setup too radically (but in the case of a twin-scroll, the necessary adjustments are OK).
-You're on Ecutek3.

Please help.

HKS GT2835 Pro HKS rate these from 380-420hp @ 1.2bar I think...more boost = CRAZYTOWN

on a 2lt this would have to be the best turbo in my opinion. However there are lots of other good brands out there, Trust T518Z would be pretty stompin. As Adam said, for the 2.5 a 25G would deffo dish the chop.

for a 2.5 go up one size. (3037)

re the GTPS01, good street turbo, currently getting 234kw at the hubs (308hp) but if I had my time again I would get something bigger. Keep in mind how much boost you want to run, day in day out. High boost smallish turbo gives good response but component life could suffer. bigger turbo, less boost, softer response but may be more economic..?

How much are we talking? I won't pay ridiculous amounts, but i certainly don't mind forking out for quality.

Pete, got any links etc i could read up on about these turbos?

What about running on Ecutek3?

aslong as you do not have a restrictive inlet on a small turbo, the life of the turbo shouldnt be too drastically affected, a restrictive inlet puts pressure on the seals and eventually causes puffs of smoke on decel/throttle off.

the idea of running a smaller turbo on bigger boost gives you a much 'fatter' torque band, rather then a narrow short torque band up the top of your rev range thats typical with oversized turbos for small engines.

On a 2.5 the green would have very lil lag... prolly fullboost in the 3-4000rpm bracket...
