Hi all,
Not sure if this is the correct place to post. Used to be on Rexnet heaps when it was active. It seems like Perth WRX is the only active forum these days. Have had my GC8 for a good 12 years and has now done 320xxx kilometers. Am planning on removing the engine and putting in an EJ207 shortblock. Have been going through other peoples builds and come up with the below. Looking for advice and if I should change anything to the list? Goal is to have a fun and streetable car whilst keeping it reliable. Car currently has the following engine mods: - VF28 - PW TMIC - 3" TBE - Power FC tune - Walbro 255lph fuel pump - Stock injectors - Aluminium radiator Parts already acquired: - PSR unequal length headers - EJ207 shortblock - OEM timing belt kit w/ waterpump - 12mm oil pump - Gasket kit - 3" silicone inlet - STi 6MT gearbox (all parts for conversion) Planning on purchasing the below for the build: - Blouch Dominator XTR 1.5 (10cm - the way to go from reading other peoples posts) - DeatschWerks 1000cc injectors with top feed conversion rails - Kelford 272 cams - ARP 625+ headstuds - Link G4+ ECU - GIR external wastegate up-pipe with screamer Any feedback will be appreciated. TIA! |

Check my driveway threads mate.
I've run the 1.5 XTR 8cm and 7cm 7cm on the 2.0L is the perfect combo and really comes to life on e85 I have only run IWG options so can only speak for those in terms of response. You'll need a 3 port solenoid if you don't have already on the list Are you building the heads - if you're doing cam upgrades some springs, retainers and guides would be advisable. My last iteration of the 1.5 did 260kw on 22 psi. That's oem 207 bottom end and oem JDM heads cams etc with ARP 625's

This is a comparison run with the 7cm vs 8cm on e85;

There is a FB post floating around from Gotitrex that has a 10cm 1.5 dyno plot on an EJ207 - comes on pretty late. The 7cm like Brett says is bang on for the 2.0L especially on Ethanol.

I do have the Blitz SBC boost controller I forgot to mention, but am thinking of binning it and replacing it with a 3 port solenoid instead. I will just have the heads machined. Only wanted to do cams since heads are coming off. If upgrading cams means to do springs, etc. I think I will just keep it stock. Still undecided whether to just stick with 98RON or go flex tune. If running E85, I will also be obtaining the DW300 fuel pump and a FPR. Is there anything else I'm missing? Thanks all for your input. |

E85/Flex all the way! Crazy how much difference 1cm makes.
