Figured that I might as well be the guinea pig. I took the paint off the inside of the right hand one and the outside of the left hand one.

Figured that way they should have similar loads / heat cycles etc.

All will be revealed....but not for a while....She is still a while away from being properly thrashed.

Interesting since it took a couple of years for it to happen on my '02 and so far no issues after 9 months with the '06....and believe me, they have been HOT.

G'day all,

Just to pull this one up from the grave...

Having a similar problem.... have put new DBA 4000's (kangaroo paw, single piece) and eligs (tenagah pack) on 3 months ago to my 02' STi.... noticed a clicking every now and again, quite subtle though, wasn't too worried.

Within the last week, when turning right, there was a squeal from the front left hand wheel. now it has turned into a loud clicking/knocking sound. Almost sounds like a CV click. you have to be cornering moderate to hard and temp can vary.

Last service was done at RMS(100k), taken it back to them for advice, they want to replace bearings and check hubs.... Only 78000km's on the clock

Anyone got any new suggestions before i hand over another wad of foldies?

I would guess RMS has test driven the car to check the problem? If so I would say they are correct.

The DBA4000's are a one piece unit so they don't have the same clicking issue as the 5000's. (As in Morgan's first post, it is the annodising on the 5000's that causes the clicking).

Hey buddy I got the same pack recently on my 99wrx I dont get the squealing and its not when i turn it just makes a ticking sound (only really noticable when next to barrier Ie. on freeway when the sound reflects back) all the time except when i brake

I took it back and we chamfered the edges like previously mentioned and it stopped for bout a day then came back so it must be the edges of the pads catching in the slots I called them again and their only solution was to change the pad brand which I havent done yet

not sure about your other problems though sounds like cv or bearing trouble as diagnosed but I have heard from people that there were a few problems with the DBA rotors making the clicking noises when cornering so try swapping to stock before forking out the cash

Cheers lads,

I certainly know the pad click noise you mention, 'm happy enough to live with it..

As for the other noise, seems to have disappeared completely which now leaves everyone baffled... We'll see what happens eh?

I'll post up again if it comes back and is diagnosed

I have DBA5000's and it seems I have this clicking noise now, only when cornering and mainly on left turns. Apart from being very annoying is there anything else I should be concerned about? Could it be caused by over tightening of wheels studs, I know it's highly unlikely?
