One draw back is less cooling as the water jacket doesn't surround as much of the cylinder wall.

None of the RS liberty owners I know have ever had problems with cooling the engine block.

The only cooling issues on old RS Libs were old cracked and swollen hoses. The thermostat generally needs replacing by now.

In fact I just finished putting in a new turbo coolant inlet hose.

But no problems with block cooling.
