well looks like im one of the unlucky ones. according to my vin, the afm i need costs $752 new compared to the $200ish one, sigh. workshop quoted me this and i went into subaru to confirm and its right
 apparantly the $200ish ones won't fit

Piss the AFM off and get some sort of aftermarket management. I'm sure you can get a Link ECU for cheaper than the price of a new AFM!

yeah i run unichip atm but that still requires use of the afm. so if i got a link ecu i wouldnt need the afm? how much better is the link compared to the unichip? what price do they go for?

On the other hand, you could go a PowerFC and get it tuned to accept a 300zx AFM which are, as i have heard, VERY reliable. Do correct me if i am wrong!
