Default Snake in the house

Came home today, had some workers here doing some crap on my roof, went inside to close the front door to find a fucking snake in my house!

I couldn't believe my eyes, the little bastard went for me, luckily he was on wood flooring and couldn't get traction or I would have been fucked.

I got a rake and fended it off with that, then got a rug and threw it over it.

Called the ranger to be told that they don't deal with snakes and to call some mob in wanneroo! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I called a pest controller, they said $200 callout plus $100 handling fee

So by this time a worker comes in to check it out, It was over a metre long really thin with a goldish body and a black stripe on it's head.

The worker says: "A good snake is a dead snake" I agreed so he jumped on the rug with his size 12 workboots a few times. Looks under, we had merely just pissed the snake off, jumps on it again and draws blood. This time it looked dead.

We get the rake and pick it up and throw it out in the garden. I go out there 10 minutes later and it is gone.

I checked the house and couldn't see any others and I think it got in via the flyscreen door as it was a little open.

Problem is, I am hoping it's mum is not in the house also.

My family seems to attract these little bastards, two years ago my sister was bitten by a tiger snake on her property and was hospitalised for weeks. I am hoping that is the last of the snakes.

Also when I was on the phone to the ranger, she was saying they are getting 2 phone calls a day about my suburb having snakes in their yards. I was like oh fuck that's not good!

Had dugites (and some BIG sods amongst 'em too) in my property several times over the last 8 or so years.... and I live in the middle of suburbia!

Thankfully, been snake-free so far this summer .

BTW, in case any1 gets the same idea... don't use flyspray on 'em... only pisses 'em off

Can't beat the ol' well aimed shovel and quick reflexes.

Damn , it happened to us the other day luckly was a baby snake but when you think about it you want to find the nest and the rest !!!!
My dad picks it and throws it out at back fence.
And last year we had baby scorpion on our dinning table !!not sure how the fuck it got there but my ear drums was blown into bits after my mum saw it ...lol
If its been spotted theres defenatly more around so either get some one to spray the joint or close the gaps..

Be careful with baby snakes they are actually more deadly than adult snakes, when they bite the pump ALL their poison into you were as the adults control the amount they will inject.

I have had a few encounters with snakes over the years (count myself lucky stepping on a Brown snake barefoot without getting bitten). Mainly see Tiger,Brown and Dugites starting to see them more often as I stopped riding motorbikes around the house. The last one I caught was 1.4 mtr Dugite which was hanging around one of our sheds.
