Laptop
hey guys, just after some info, in need of a new laptop seeing as home my home computer is soo rooted, its a desktop but i wanna go for a laptop now. wannag go get it late night shopping tomorrow.
after something pretty basic, wont be running games and stuff, just storing music etc and using the net. saw a good compaq one for $830 80 gig hdd, windows vista basic etc. looking at spending between 700-900, like i said not after anything high end, just a basic laptop. Anyone got any good recomendations at to what to go for and where to get it from etc? or anyone in the biz can hook me up with a good deal? Last edited by Adr3naL1N; 11-07-2007 at 11:57 AM. |

i recommend a desktop.. you will get alot better value for money buying a desktop rather then a laptop. (unless ya really need the laptop)

yeah.
Austin's have a machine for $490 which is pretty good, basic, but good for what you intend to use it for, then u can just use ur current screen, keyboard and mouse. PS: I am keen to take ur old PC off ur hands if its no good to you anymore... I can use it for parts If you would like more info re: this PC, PM me. |

so it has the option to be mobile...
good idea, I would say talk to ppl at Austin's, PLE etc.. or even our mate, Rusty Gates at Arrow. Would be your cheapest place to start looking I would think. Basically, you want dual core 2 duo 1gig ram at least, I would rather not having Vista, as its shit and a DVD burner. Thats about all u want from a laptop. Things like built in wireless are handy too, and bluetooth, and card readers... but depends if your planning on using those things. Wireless is a must tho, coz u never know where u can get "free" internet from... ie: most carparks in Joondalup. |
