smells like snake oil.. i'd think that the guys developing these things "may" have an inkling on RF design... more likly is that your either reflecting more signal in or mounting it higher up thus catching more of the signal... either way i'd save my money...

oh are you making the brackets out of metal or plastic?

Nice one buddy.
You should do your research before you spout your mouth off. Multanova 6F is NOT circular polarized like most moving (dash mounted) radars are. I could go on and provide you a bunch of links but you know what? You can go and do the research for yourself.

Try not to drive past unmarked car flat out in fourth. My radar detector should have beeped because I was being stupid!

I wouldn't mind knowing if there are any technical reasons out there explaining why a vertical mounting is better than a horizontal mounting.

I was sceptical at first, but came across a multanova whilst sitting at a set of traffic lights. My RX65 was at 1 bar in the horizontal position. I then turn the detector 90 degrees and the detection went up to 3-4 bars. To me this proved there was some merit to it.

I remember being told a while ago that radar detectors have a vertical polarization. A multanova has horizontal polarization, which is why mounting the detector vertically allows it to detect the horizontal polarization better. Can anyone elaborate on that?

it really should not work, as the detectors should have a circular front end ie receiving elements having similar gain / sensitivity in both vertical and horizontal configurations.

Has anyone been getting POP KA readings from their BEL radar detector whilst driving down the freeway. Mainly when there are workmen working on the railline ?
