Managed to avoid it last time I was over there but one of these is on West tce going onto Anzac Hwy. The old man reckons since they put it in he has started stopping instead of hoofing it. Said he has had more than a dozen people almost rear end him. Was never a problem before!!!

Not bad for a fifty going to a 60 zone. You would think most people would be able to stop but said he has seen a hugh increase in the rear enders.

Yeah, Bypass and Stirling crescent is notorious for semis running reds.

If you stop on an amber and someone runs up the back of you it is possible to be partially balmed. Amber means "stop if it is safe to do so". If you cut in front of someone (usually a 40 tonne B double) then stop for an early amber you deserve to get slammed & blamed. I saw a woman in a Jeep do it yesterday on a downhill.

Pfft, never said Ive never done it, Im just saying, theres no excuse for doing it..... so if theres redlight cameras, theres no point bitching about it.

Yeah, well I was thinking of a car, not a truck,, but I am aware theres an occasion where you have to, my brother got flashed by a redlight camera, because he went through because the truck behind him was going to be able to stop in time, despite him arguing that, and them having photographic evidence of a truck with smoke pooring off the tyres like a few seconds later, he still had to wear the fine.

and, personally, I received one for going through a redlight to move out the way for an ambulance to get through, which did get waivered when I queried it.

I always wondered about that. Last night i was in the middle lane on my own at a leach hwy intersection, I saw an ambulance coming, but it wasn't till the last second waiting for that light to turn green that i jumped the gun and nailed it out of his road..
