Interesting.

So Alonso waited for the results of the FIA investigation into Renault spying on McLaren.

Considering Alonso ratted McLaren out, and he did deals to keep immunity, I can only summise that Renault's non punishment is linked.

Having said that, Alonso is a fool. He had issues and left McLaren because he couldnt hack the dramas of wiz kid and his dad....

Well guess what, if he thinks the Hamilton's were bad, he aint seen nothing yet.

I remember reading somewhere a while ago that Piquet's old man would not allow him to drive for a team without it in writing that he had equal status as his team mate ( expecting it might be Alonso when he said it )

His opinion was that it would be harmful to his son's career. Don't know if he will be as good as Hamilton but think it will be enough to rattle Alonso's cage again.

Back to Renault he goes :P
What I'm interested in is where Heikki is gonna end up. Perhaps a direct swap with McLaren?

Turns out that's what's happened
Pretty logical, considering the driver market. One concern would the the experience the driver's have (yeah, we know how Hamilton has performed, but nonetheless, both are 2nd-year rookies).
Should make for some good racing.

Good on him! McLaren are still going to have a very strong team next year. With all the other changes set to take place, us sit-at-home racers are going to have some of the best racing to watch!! Now if we could only get the full iTV coverage like over in Europe

Next years F1 season has the potential to be a great contest.

My picks= Top billing to Ferrari with a clear Number 1 and a driver in Massa capable of winning and getting alot of podiums as No2, against (in my opinion) McLaren next in line. Hamilton is clearly very 'special' and Heikki will keep him honest- I hope Ron keeps to his formula of not having a number 1 and number 2 driver, equal billing has been the usual style at McLaren. So, next best line up??? BMW, Williams or Red Bull?

I think there is a paddock between these teams and Renault.

Couldn't happen to a nicer fella (Alonso) really.
