How do i check if im losing sync? I went into my toolbox just before and had a look around but cant find any logs or anything ..
Theres no fuzz on the line aswell, so im not too sure what could be the problem.

You are losing sync if the 'ADSL' light on your modem turns off at the same time you lose internet connectivity.

This is basically a loss of the ADSL signal being pushed down your line via the DSLAM in the exchange.

It is not a good thing if your sync is dropping out.

If you are losing connection while the sync light is still lit .. then we have something to work with. Losing the ADSL signal or 'sync', usually means there is a bad fault somewhere on the line.

could be lots of things, could be the phone line from the wall to your router has been run over with a chair and damaged.

could be water in the wires outside in the street, which happened to me - every time it rained my net wet to shit due to an intermittent ground.

could be the router is semi dead from power spikes / age/ heat.

could be a bad device on the line

To do:
probably first replace the phone line to your router, and see if it fixes

then have nothing else on the line but the router and see if that fixes

if not its telstra / iinet's problem. you just have to keep complaining constantly to get them to figure it out. probably the best way is to tell them they are not getting money from you anymore till they fix it because they are not providing the service you signed up for. Switching isp isn't likely to solve your busted line either.

using firefox, can access any other site, just not paypal.
in the bottom progress bar thing, it says 'connecting to paypal' for about 20 seconds, then comes up with connection has timed out message.
Ive looked in browser settings to no avail.
