I knew some people who were working at WA Salvage when that went under. And the money they got paid was crazy plus they were offered jobs as well at Bunnings.
i wasnt having a dig either. just saying that things will be different.

It has been a long time coming... Its definitely a good thing for the brand as a whole... and I'm sure they will import an equivalent(probably better) to the 380...

It was a good car but the brand's Aussie image had been tarnished by lots of rumours and *drum roll* early Magnas which weren't that great (well, couldn't stack up to commies and falcos). I know this coz my parents have owned a Magna since 2000 and, while it hasn't been bad over 7-8 years, there's been a couple of MAJOR problems over that time which were really out of the blue and cost thousands to repair. General build quality wasn't that flash.. just adds up to the bad reputation they got.

The 380 should have been looked at with clean eyes. Unfortunately it wasn't, and because of this people think it's a bad car when it wasn't/isn't. Like my Master D said, it's a shame but that's the way the world works

The 380 was boring, non offensive styling. They couldnt take the chance designing something that people would think looked too harsh, so they decided on something that just looked like.....meh. It was doomed from the outset regardless of reputations from previous models. $0 = Boring Car.

You really do have to wonder when Australian based car companies will wake up and see that huge cars arent the future in the current environment. Sure, throw a diesel or a hybrid engine in them and they may have a chance of survival. But a big car with a big fuel drinking V6 is going to see them losing money. I just hope Holden hurry up and put the "Torana" into production.

Doesnt Thrifty own Mitsu or the other way round? only reason they stayed afloat so long is thrifty now provides 380s as the standard car instead of the falcon/commodore. which is irritating when you have to go somewhere with gravel roads
