use fuel that ur car is tuned for, unless ur car is stock...

If u want to use another fuel that may be cheaper than fuel x.. Get the bloody thing tuned on it..

i haven't put anything besides BP Ultimate 98 in my car since the day I bought it... Even tho there have been times when it's been so much more expensive than the Caltex down the road. Infact, 9 times out of 10, when I get fuel, i drive right past a Caltex which is less than 2mins from my house, to drive 5+ mins down the road to get to the nearest BP. I don't see the point of changing. And I know my car is stock, so it probably doesn't make fuck all of difference what fuel I use, as long as its 98RON. At the end of the day, its only $1.50 per litre.. Only reason why you complain is because fuel is the only thing you buy in "bulk". If you wanted to buy 40l of milk, I can gaurantee that you will pay more than $60.

In the effort of saving $4-$7 everytime I fill up, I think i'll stick to what I know is best..

Cheapest BP 98 is 147.9 today.

Cheapest 98 RON is 141.4 from United Fuels.

Anyone who thinks they are the same fuels is misguided. Some brands are exported in from Singapore (i.e. completely different fuel composition). Some brands come from the BP Kwinana refinery. However each brand is made up under its own 'formula'. So whilst they are all 98RON, they could all have different chemical additives.

Some people can probably run any fuel and not see any damage, others may not be so lucky. It is a gamble that anyone would have to take.

I usually go out of my way to find a Peak or United and if they have run out of 98 I put 95 in, the money you save is worth it I think! Once I put 92 in, the car overheated a bit but still got me from A to B.

That's indeed interesting, as some of my mates say that Diesel fuel is more efficient than petrol, and to test it next time i shall fill up with BP Ultimate diesel and see how we go...mind you my car is stock other than the exhaust!

BP diesel + kero + metho = BP98.

I read it on a forum once.
