I dont think the peak fuel is BP ultimate, but from what ive been told, the caltex and shell are, as they all come from the same refinery ??

I dont believe it has always been this way, but from what i understand they are all the same these days. Again im not 100% sure but.

All Star Garage did they're own testing on Caltex vs BP 98 and found BP to be a significantly better fuel, so doubt they're the same.

As for fuel prices, it's not just turbo cars that benefit, most modern cars also require 98. And fuel companies are fuck heads who are shitting themselves over the future where (IMO) Hydrogen + Battery powered cars will monopolise the vehicle industry

Besides a couple of tanks in Williams and Bridgetown where I couldn't get Vortex 98 I reckon the last 10 tanks have been Caltex. The New Caltex Woolworths @ the Gallerea is usualy between 5 & 10 cents cheeper than the BP on the corner of Wellington st that I used to use.

I seem to get slightly better mileage, feels exactly the same to drive and showed up as being able to take a bit more timing last time it was on Race Torque's dyno compared with the time before when running BP.

For the fact it is almost always cheeper Vortex all the way.

Today at the Gallerea Vortex 98 @ 142.8.

BP are the ones that seem to be consistently the most expensive lately. Moral of the story. DON'T BUY BP FOR A WHILE. It will come back down if enough go for the cheeper servos.

Hmm..

$10 vs an engine rebuild.

I'd rather stick to something tried and tested for now.

So people who are experimenting, please keep us informed..

Anybody that thinks a car tuned on one brand of 98 ron fuel will run just as safe on a different brand are kidding themself.

One random with no tuning experience tells another random with equal amounts of tuning experience that 'My car ran fine on X fuel after it was tuned on Y fuel' it suddenly becomes fact.

But i'm with Pete. Anybody with a car tuned for BP98 game enough to run Vortex98 from now on?
