another way to cover your plate that is not noticable is by getting a LCD screen cut to size and put infront.
Looks normal from all angles.... until you flick the switch and apply a charge through the screen.... the crystals change... and you get a black screen.
Similar effect when you press your finger on a calculator screen...

thats the ultimate in disguise, but alot of trouble to make (finding LCD screen cut to size)
flick the switch n go.

thats what i'm (allegedly) doing, but instead of having it fully blanked it wil be blanked in sections, running at high speed so if you look at it it appears normal, but to a camera, a section will be masked.

Getting custom LCD's is my business... amongs other things.. its not expensive its just i will have to order 500 minimum.. but then again i'm getting it at cost...

yeah....right.

Besides, to get something like you were talking about to work, it would be helpful to know the shutter speed of the cameras.

shutter speed is important but the proto will be adjustable, and will be tested against a digi slr, as long as it performs at max shutter speed it will be ok, the LCD will be protected by a polycarbonate cover, but yes a big rock will smash it, but ill take my chances, plus i can spec vandal resistant glass... price goes up tho... want to keep it cheap

the other option is to register the car to an incorporation (which costs 1500 + to incorporate) then you can pay a 2k fine every flash and lose no points which is fine should you value points more than money
