Just for the record, Mazda 3's are DAMN cheap to run.
With servicing...it just requires oil and filter change every 10k km and a change of plugs every couple of years.
Mazda use Castrol Magnatec 10W/40 in their dealer services, so $30 for oil and $20 for filter, filter O-rings (its a cartridge type filter) and sump plug, means every service only costs $50 plus labour, or $50 if you DIY.
Does over 500km per tank, which means its probably using around 8-9L per 100 in mixed use (city and freeway).
So for anyone wanting to buy a Mazda 3, they ARE cheap to run, from experience
