The file is most likely open, so the file must be removed by anti-virus on next boot or removed while the disk is not booted.

Normally when you are about to remove any virus, it is wise to turn system recovery off, as if you delete it, your system was saved before the deletion and you ever have to restore to that point, you may be forked all over again

As most folk have discovered anti-virus spyware won't delete it only detect. I've got the very latest corporate edition of Mcaffee and that did f**ck all. The virus locks the file so it can't be deleted by you or any a/v program. Booting into Recovery console takes 2 minutes and file deleted straight away. Don't waste your time downloading a/v stuff. It won't work for this particular virus.

Had the same problem recently. My son's PC copped it in a drive-by on gamecopyworld (HINT: DON'T GO THERE!) AVG only did a partial detect & remove. Vundofix got some more, but still not all of it. Then I tried AntiMalwareBytes:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam/dat...mbam-rules.exe and it killed the rest of the vundo, but had to run it a 2nd time to get the residual in system volume information. It's freeware with manual updates but doesn't give realtime protection unless ya pay. Reviews are mostly good but quite a few reviewers were also touting SUPERantispyware http://www.superantispyware.com/supe...freevspro.html as being just as good but I can't comment, not having tried it myself. Same freeware deal, pay for pro.

I found with my system the trojan installed overnight - so I was able to search for any files created within the prior 24 hours and delete these whilst booted from a PE cd.
You should be able to do the same with your 'other' copy of windows.

Otherwise download a trial copy of 'Exterminate-It" or tool - run the update and scan your filesystems. You will not be able to remove/clean using a trial copy - but it should list the infected files. Write them down and delete them as above.

The filenames can be any in the following list:
