I was tempted with the R32 as well, as an alternative to the bigger cars I've been looking at, but cannot justify where the hell the price tag shows its worth.
Maybe it was drawn out of a hat by the good people at VW.

It's 15k more than the Gti, but then you get a few more things standard such as leather, xenon headlights, stereo(?). 55 is for a 3dr manual, not dsg... + ORC & DD So basically 60k ...Why would you want the 3dr car that small for 60k!?
And Recaro seats are an extra 4k ffs!!!
