Default Tivo

So I bought a Tivo on Saturday and the first thing I put in was Top Gear, then added Boston Legal and a few others.

HOW AWESOME

I cant be bothered downloading Top Gear and always forget to record it as I am at the Gym when it is on. Just to rub it in my face the Gym has it on the TV with no sound

Came home last night it it had gone nuts recording Good news week and all sorts of stuff. Watched Top Gear which was a great episode and am thinking this thing will get me throught the Olympics unscathed.

OH, thought I'd upgrade the 2 year old 42 inch upscalable Plasma to a true High Def 50 inch while I was getting Tivo - Boy Toy heaven.

Downloads 2 weeks of TV guide from the net

tell it to record a show and it finds when it is on and tapes one episode or the series.

Tell it you like rally and it will find all rally related shows

Heaps easier to use and quicker than the Video and the quality of the recordings kicks ass

taped Ramsey and Boston legal at the same time last night

log in from anywhere and tell it to record a show you forgot about

and like stinga said - fast forward the ads

its like bit torrent for newbies, cept you have to wait for the show to actually air in Australia, and pay for it with money.

Maybe, but the quality is high definition and you dont need to download very much. You pay a one off price for it (twin HD DVR) but no ongoing costs - like large downloads of the internet.

I tried Bit Torrents several years ago but am not a fan. I am too busy and prefer ease of use.

Tivo learns your viewing habits and records shows you might like and suggests shows you might like also - dont think Bit Torrents can do that yet.
