I went to a place in J'loop and he looked at me blankly when I mentioned Ipod adapter. I also phoned Stratfield and the 14 yr old on the phone was pretty clueless.

I'm not sure, I called their number from their website. Actually last time I dealt with Strathfield they were really good. I had a stereo installed by some company in Joondalup (forgot who), anyway got it back, 2 of the speakers weren't working. So took it back for them to have a look at. Came back 2 hours later and the guy said got some bad news, your new stereo is faulty (bought frm Strathfield) and also someone reversed into your door when i was moving your car! The whole drivers door was caved in and wouldn't open. So pretty p*ssed off drove down to Strathfield told them they sold me a dodgy stereo. The guy asked where I had it fitted, told him, he looked at me funny and came out to look at the stereo. Pulled it out and pointed out they had wired up the speakers incorrectly! Morons. He reckoned he was forever fixing up their fuck ups. Can't remember the company name, began with an M, but obviously never went back there again.

Just had a Kenwood adaptor installed at Audiocom Rockingham and I can control EVERYTHING through my screen. EQ, Ipod settings all playlists and scan through all 80GB of songs with titles, artwork set random playbacks the works. Mind you I think the DVD sat/nav touch screen itself has a lot to do with the features you can see, not just the cable itself. Might be wrong though.

It's a Golf R32.

I get it next week, but just found out that the 08 models may have a MP3 adapter as standard. I'm guessing this would be just a 3.5mm jack. So should be able to use my IPOD , but won't be able to control it through the stereo. What do the Denison adapters retail for/fitted?

Apparently the R32 doesn't have fibre optics so can't read track name/artist so will probably just use the 3.5mm jack for the time being.
