Default First aussie Airbus A380

Qantas just got their first A380. 2nd one in Aus following Singapore Airlines' flying the Sydney - Singapore route.

It lands in Perth 14th October from 8AM - 1PM.

Article on page 3 of today's 'Escape' liftout in the Sunday times.

Rumours also for Emirates putting one on the daily Perth - Dubai route.

Am I the only aviation buff here? Any others going to see it land? The best viewing position is close to Menzies aviation apparently.

I would love to see this thing land. I was in Sydney the other week 2 hours before the 380 was coming in to land, the amount of cars parked at the end of the runway was crazy! I wish I was around to see it land but left about 20 minutes before it was scheduled.

reckon i might get a pretty good view from the tarmac of the domestic airport where i work

I wonder if the runway will crumble under its weight....

$280mil, or more...

I made the trip to the Airbus factory in France earlier in the year. Fuckin insane production line. At full capacity they will be rolling out one per week.

No cameras were allowed but I managed to snap these two:

Entry to Airbus factory (Heavily guarded too):

Second airbus ever built (Delivered to Singapore airlines):
