Looks like the first Aussie Airbus has fallen out of the sky already.

Nice work, QANTAS

erm if you read it again it says Airbus A330... first Aussie Airbus refers to the A380...

Sounds as though it was sudden severe turbulence mixed with an instrument failure... THIS IS WHY YOUR SEATBELT SHOULD REMAIN FASTENED AT ALL TIMES DURING FLIGHT!!!

Back on topic of the A380... for this time of year and for a scheduled 8am landing... I'm gonna go with an approach and landing over tonkin highway... that end. But ATC is so unpredictable (should hear some of the pilots bitch about it lol) I wouldn't even bet money on it!

It was an A330-300 not the A380, Qantas' A380 is not even in commercial service yet first scheduled flight is on the 20th Oct.

Qantas seem to be getting a bit dodgy over the last few months. I still think they are a decent airline though but will need to spend some money to start fixing these problems.

Bring on the A380 though will be very impressive to see in the flesh. Make sure those people going to watch it land get some good snaps and post them up.

So, who's keen on heading down for some pics on Tuesday?

Possible photoshoot opportunity early on in the morning.

Was going to leave at 7 and be there around 7:30.

Weird, everywhere is saying 8AM (taking off again at 12), have plans changed?

Your right arriving 8am departing 1pm, read the 10am time a while back on Airliners.net

"Perth: The aircraft will land at approximately 8am and depart at approximately 1pm on Tuesday 14 October.
On board the promotional flights will be Qantas' corporate customers, frequent flyers, local dignitaries and media."

ETA 0800... ETD 1200

Parking on Bay 50... which is the international side... observation deck closed at the international airport, due to Qantas having a function in there.

Menzies aviation I have found out, is actually Perth Cargo Center... located at the following address;
Sugarbird Lady Rd, Perth Airport, WA 6105

Horrie Miller Drive, Left at Fricker Road, Left onto Sugarbird Lady Road, and you should find Perth Cargo Center.

Might check it out after work on Monday. But I think you'll only be able to see it land from that location, looking at the map.
