I've got the report a hoon number in my phone on speed-dial .. If i see someone who is being an excessive tard, driving dangerously, tailgating me etc .. I call up and report them (got an in-car kit).
Got no mercy for fags on the road anymore, reported several already.

Ive done the same. Ive reported this douchebag Dominos Pizza Driver several times. If you drive in Northbridge regularly, you'll see a Little white Toyota Echo with Dominos insignia. Tailgating, constantly dodging in and out of lanes and revving its tits off like its a race car. Fuck tard.

Not trying to get up anyone... But any member of the public reporting "hoons" it stupid all you are going to start wars between people. I would say that you are best leaving it for the cops to do their jobs. And by reporting them without any evidence what is that going to do. Is it going to stand up in court? Its not going to be too long till everyone is reporting some random for "hooning" what the hell is that going to achieve? I generally drive like a Grandma and if someone wanted to get revenge for something completely irrelevant to my driving they could ring up the cops and report me as a hoon. Where do I stand then? I do realise that there are shit drivers out on the roads. The smartest option just stay away from them. They will get caught up in good time. Let the cops do their own jobs and you get on with your own lives.

I'm hearing ya VF6, and you're right. As the Police have said before though, they can never catch them cause hooning is all opportunistic to some extent.
The whole hoon law phone line doesn't do a great deal, but as per the article in the first post of this thread, it all goes onto the Police DB and you're gonna get a knock on the door from the Police. If i have to stand up in court would be happy to, I only report really bad things not some ricer dude BOVing me. Would a knock on the door from the Police rattle you a little bit if you'd been reported?

Hoon laws only serve to get dickhead cops (some NOT all, some are nice) a bit higher on their power trip. Reporting about it in the media is a way of saying the government is doing something about crime, when clearly, serious assaults and destructive behaviour are on the rise.

If enough people report the same person the cops are going to do something sooner than waiting to charge them when they seriously hurt or kill some body.
