Default classic ford day @ lanes

was held @ lane ford in mandurah today. i wasn't expecting much to be honest. i thought it was going to be plethora of bogan's coveting xw/xy's (don't get me wrong, plenty of that going on) but amongst all that, something got my heart racing!

i have been the biggest ebgt fan since i was 15 (the year it came out) and have always wanted one, but could never justify buying one, the closet i got was the poor man's version, an ebii fairmont ghia (5lt, sunroof, leather) but its like an impreza rx trying/wanting to be a wrx, close but so so far away! anyway, rock up, grab a shocking coffee and proceed to feast myself on all things australiana only to be smaked in the face by half dozen eb gt's! two of which really caught my eye. the first was a burgundy in stunning original condition with just a mere 22000kms that was brand new. its like it was rolled out from the showroom a mere 5 feet away and it had been there for 17 years! the second car was perhaps the most awesome car i have seen in a LONG LONG time. black, manual, sunroof with 26000kms with factory original pzero tyres. someone came up to me and said "you like?" and all i could utter was "ahhhh bhhhhh" sounding like a pimple faced teenager caught my with pants down!

one day ill get one, one day!

ahh yes, also spotted the ultra rare sprintex two door au (meh!) no, seriously very cool.

another cool car was this ed sprint that is epitome of classy late model muscle car. tuff small block windsor, ajr three piece wheels hiding ex v8 supercar alcon brakes, 9" rear end that just screams, tuff!

any other closet ford/holden fans out there?

*excuse the poor quality of photo's, only had my phone with me*

Why was I not informed about this!!
I remember the AU coupe, it was the car to see at my first motor show.......awesome.
I've got a bit of a soft spot for the old EB too, my cousin used to have a cherry black 5lt with FR18s on it

My neighbor just bought a mint one owner always garaged EB XR8 with 103k on the clock for $4,500, looks as good as the day it came out of the factory, but having spent the best part of 4yrs & over 500,00k's driving an EB taxi they just don't do it for me any more lol.

The EBGT was my favourite car when i was 18 but being they were the mid to high 30s then i had no chance of affording one.
Closest thing i did was convert a eb falcon to look like one.
kit, paint etc just never got as far as doing the wheels or sunroof.
