Question about car dealer
Hi Guys,
Does car dealers have to disclosed the condition of a used car before it it sold? eg: major accident Something happened between my friend and the dealers. My friend purchase a used car about 2 years ago for 17k. The car is 1 years old with very low mileage. She decide to sell the car last week and bring it back to dealer. The dealer bumped her off and refuse to retake the car because the car involve in a major accident! As far as we know, the car was never in an accident for the past 2 years. I understand that the dealer has the right to reject the car but she is not made aware that the car was involved in an accident before. Does the dealer normally provide any documentation about the used car condition when it was sold to new customer? Thanks for any info. |

They will give you as little information as they can. If you don't ask they won't tell you.
If you asked and they told you that it hadn't when they knew it had you might have some come back.

I learned that nothing much can be done unless it is in black and white.

This also happened to my friend.
But my friend got them to retake the car. and this is how: My friend said that she was not aware that this car was in a major accident and that if she knew it was in a major accident then she would NOT have bought it. The dealership can not accept a silent contract (meaning the dealer can't go ahead with the contract hoping that the buyer already knows this, it must be said or written so that the buyer is aware of this) and therefore legal actions can be brought down. This was about 1.5 yrs ago .. I hope this helped you a little |
