Default Not guilty of assaulting Cop.

Quite a suprising verdict. What do you guys think, was there provocation from the cops? What would you have done in that situation?

Surely headbutting a cop and putting him in a wheelchair is excessive force to protect your dad.

Grabbing the taser would have sufficed.

Stupid verdict that is too common an occurrence.

The trouble with juries is that they are made up of the people who were too stupid to think up an excuse not to do judry duty.

How could you watch that video and not find him guilty?

Obviously more evidence was given during the trail.

I do not think the cop deserves to be crippled for the rest of his life but I don't believe the guy deserves to go to jail for getting the cop off his Dad either.

There were 7 cops there plus members of the public helping them out, they should have been able to subdue 3 people, including a 55 yr old, with health problems without having to resort to the taser. In the video the cops looked completely disorganised and unprofessional and I think they could have handled it a lot better. I'm not condoning the guy headbutting the cop, but you do get potential volatile situations that are exacerbated by over zealous and aggressive cops. Situations that could be handled diplomatically and professionally avoiding this situation.

So he headbutted the cop for tazing his old man who was recovering from a heart attack yeah?

Yet said old man was substantially inebriated along with his sons - fitting example of Oztralian law system failure.

Agreed. I have heard from people that have dealt with butcher in the past and from what I can gather he has always had a massive ego, and is a right prick. That said nobody deserves to be crippled whilst doing their job.
