I have a BP\Citibank credit card for the 5% discount, so I mainly use BP Ultimate.

But the last 2 times I have filled up with 98 at BP Carlisle about 50km down the road I get the orange engine light on my dash and the cruise control no longer works. It seems to right its self overnight, anyone else had any bad experiences like that?

+1 The ONLY petrol station in Ellenbrook is a Caltex/Woolies one and doesn't have 98RON they were going to have it until they discovered they didn't allow for an extra tank when they built the servo!!!

So I have to either go to Malaga or Beechboro to get my fuel. Approximately a 20min drive. FAIL

^^ Nah mate, not with fuel - Recommend you get your Suby to the dealer or somewhere which can read that CEL code and tell you what is actually going on there.

Last tune was done on Vortex 98 to see if there was any difference between it and BP. Lane reckoned he could put a little more timing in it than the last BP tune but it was so little we didn't bother.

Think I usually get slightly better milage on Vortex ( but very close ) did a trip to Augusta today though on BP and averaged just over 9 L/100km which is the best I have ever got.

Both the local Caltex and BP are big turnover ones so just go with whichever is cheeper.

Haven't run Peak in the car cos until recently had a BP & Caltex card but the bike seems just as happy on any of them.

I seem to get more KM's out of Bp on long country drives....so i tend to stick with them....and i know the guy working at my local shop anyways ahaha
but if im cheap i might fill in some vortex....on city driving i swear there is no difference.

BP > Vortex for me performance wise. Vortex lasts longer though. Also agree with above about Vortex running out all the time ( Malaga).

Becareful about Malaga Caltex, sometimes they are more expensive than the BP on Alexander drive .

I've only ever run BP98 and get 350 - 370kms from a tank.

I'll fill up with Vortex98 and let you know how I go.

only 350-370... sounds like you need a tune (provided you only have the
mods listed in your sig)

even if you only run your 60L tank down to 50L

50L and 370km is still 13.5L/100km (60L and 350km is 17.1L/100km) which is still much higher than stock good reason not to have atmo bov hey kids
