Default 98 fuel - Peak, Caltex or BP?

Hey Guys/Girls.

Wanting to know if 98 fuel is the same quality from BP, Caltex and Peak? I mainly fill up at Peak then secondly Caltex but havent used BP for ages due to BP being the most expensive. Is there any noticable performance difference between the three? (i.e. does BP have the cleanest 98 over Peak).

Cheers

there is a thread about this already somewhere on the forum, i belive general concencus was vortex and bp were about the same.

I usually stick with bp ultimate because my local caltex servo always seems to have supply issues with vortex but id happily use either

Thanks mate, I know what you mean re the Caltex having supply issues as the one at Ocean Keys (Mindarie) always seems to be out when I need it.

I have found in my GC8 I get more K's out of Vortex 98, however I feel I get more performance from BP Ultimate but less K's. It might be a little nerdy but I did a 2 week trial of both driving to work and back and the usual running around just to test it out. Made sure I drove the same each time as much as possible. Traffic being the variable factor.

As BP is the only refinery over here and 98 is relatively low volume do u think all 98 is BP in WA.

If it was economic I'm guessing Shell would deliver 98 to the west.

Just my thought with no real evidence.

I get about 30-40K's to a tank more out of Peak/United than I did with BP but I've never tried Caltex, seems to have similar performance.

Peak,Liberty,United comes from overseas, been told by the garage owner in Ozzy Pk that it comes from the US but general consensus is it's from Singapore.

Caltex buys bps 98 and does some more stuff to it and adds additives. Spec iv is pretty spot on vortex 98 will get you more from a tank than bp ultimate but ive also noticed bp ultimate gives the rexie a bit more go compared to vortex 98.

I believe all of Caltex`s fuels are from BP and yes Caltex do add extra additives to the 98ron
