I'll give it a shot tonight...if i can ping the PC and I've set up a share on it for anyone to access it, there shouldn't be a problem. If i can, is there a way of permanantly mounting a share on the MAC desktop for instance just so i dont have to type it in every single time
also with smb://192.168.0.2 can i specify which drive it connects to? with windows you do the drive letter and the $ sign

Also getting to hidden windows shares via a mac is not an easy feat. I think instead of typing smb://192.168.0.2/c$ you need to go smb://192.168.0.2/c/$ if I recall. Also it works very sparatically for me. If you keep having trouble with creating shares on your mac, you can get a 3rd party add on which does true samba sharing and it works for me with my MediaGate and windows pc's I will try and find the app tonight when I get home. |
