I'm waiting for the 3GS to get released, I was tempted by the 3G last year (or year before, whenever) but it was just too buggy.

does the 3.0 upgraded firmware allow you to do everything you can do in the 3G S to be released. I got a phonecall from all phones this week saying I can upgrade my phone, so was thinking of going to the iphone free on the $59 cap with optus... or is it worth waiting...

Compass and GPS on the new one would be real handy, especially for my line of work, but can I get these ap's or something?

Just wait kym, its only a few weeks away anyway.

the idea is that if i can get almost the same features on the old one with 3.0, then I might as well do that, as it will be cheaper for me too, $59 per month as oposed to what im paying now.

....or even better remove the useless camera entirely and save ... 1-2 grams of weight

even the best of the best camera phones that are more camera than phone... like the LG viewty... are still shite.

Not tempted enough to go into Apple territory just yet.... plan comes up shortly but thinking of holding out until release of the Blackberry Storm 2.
