I might do the test today I'm pretty sure I no how to do it u set ur seat as low as it can go and then u look accross the scoop and u should be able to see the kurb within 11 meters or sompthing when u are parked beside the kurb can anyone correct or direct me in the rite direction for checking the visibility over a scoop?

the scoop is factory on the stis so there for it comes out on cars. I wouldn even worry about taken it off.

It's not a factory option on GC8, therefore it was never approved for frontal visibility on that design. Just because it came out on a different body does not mean it's design meets ADR's on an earlier model. Save the trouble and remove it first, if you're a shortass it will impede vision.

If you have the original scoop take it with you + an 8mm? spanner so you can change it on the spot just in case.

will the pits check for snorklectomy? also it does look like my cannon at the lowest point is bout 85-90mm of the ground and the limit is 100? do u recon even if i put the standard exhaust or same year sti exhaust back on it will sit more than at 100 or higher than 100 at lowest point?

What about the inner guard snorkel box thing that goes to the back of the air box think it's the snokel would I need to put that back on or doesn't of matter?

No mate, unless they wanted to do a drive by noise test. I believe the snorkel (resonator) was not only a feed of cool air but also as a noise surpressor for the intake. I doubt they'd know it was missing, it's certainly not on their list to check.
