Hey guys, AirAsia have some ridiculous prices for flying PTH -> KL return (A$290) and also out to Islands ie KL -> Penang is less than A$40 return from KL.

Thinking of somewhere different for a week of sunning and drinking, was thinking 3 days KL and week on and Island somewhere. How about some ideas if you have been up this way recent. Was even thinking of Ho Chi Min or somewhere as prices a similar to taking the bus!!

Vietnam is spectacular. Ho Chi Minh is really good, but pretty touristy. if you want to see actual VN jump on the ferry and head down to Vung Tau! very very nice.

Yeah genting about 1 hour from KL taxi ride.

Was the best thing i did there i think. going to do it again
looking for few guys who want go there for photos in early 2010 around march or something always specials on. I got $250 return with air asia
and $270 for 4 nights at Novatel and i got upgraded with mrs to A suite on floor 26 nice as.

This theme park and Casino was at the top of the 4km cable car ride.
Cable car was 10rm each way which is like $3.50 australian

Stupid Australia would have charged $60 for that ride lol

Next visit i want to go see the caves i think where the big golden statue was and the monkeys as you walk the stairs.

But best thing is our money is 3 times their money. So everything is sooo cheap.
food travel, only thing that cost is alcohol however we had a few beers in china town while watching the people walk around.

China town was good for all your copy stuff

I lived in KL for 3 months and Penang for 9, absolutely loved it.

Genting Highlands road is the place of many underground drift meetings
as the road goes around and around the mountain all the way to the top
and back down again.

My favourite places to shop in KL was the Suria KLCC Mall which is under the Petronas twin towers and Berjaya Times sqaure (has indoor theme park with rollercoaster) and all the malls around the area all within 5 mins walk of times square.

Love little India and China town at night.

Quite a few auto accessory shops and workshops in that area too.
