Default Windscreen repair/replacement contacts

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any windscreen repair contacts
that can do a good price on either a chip repair or replacement
windscreen.

Ive been to O'briens and they want $129 to fill in the chip but
need to make it bigger to be effective and there is a possibility
they may crack the windscreen more.

I have also rang 2 Subaru dealerships and they want $1088.44
for a genuine windscreen which i think is ludicrous!

Hate to think what the price for the JDM Spec C light weight
one like the one i have would cost so ADM is going to have to
do!

I would prefer to stay genuine.

So if anyone can help out it would be greatly appreciated and
probably involve some kind of free alcohol as a thankyou.

*before i get told to do it under insurance, im with JUST CARS
who are the only insurance co. that dont do 1 free 1 a year.
(farkn cunts!!!)

Cheers,

Wayno

I use Budget windscreens, Paul is the guy's name. He's mobile, based in Welshpool. Usually under $300 for anything supplied and fitted.
When you get your "lightweight" spec C windscreen removed, measure it and comapare it's thickness to standard, you may be surprised to find no difference.

Thanks for the info guys, was kind of looking for someone
with direct contact to these people as in family or mates so
they can possibly get a good mates rates price.

Also those prices quoted, are they for GD's or GC's as i know
GC's are a shit load cheaper than the GD ones.

Cheers,

Wayno

+1 for budget. Paul is a pretty good guy, had a few done by him before.
From memory it was around $200 for a GC8 so I would imagine $300ish should do a GD

Mine was for a GD. I did the ring around to the usual suspects, windscreen obrian, instant windscreens and a couple of others that i can't remember. Majority wanted up near the $600 mark.

Mate how big is the chip? if its only small maybe better to get it repaired then having to replace your genuine screen. I had one repaired by a mob called ultrabond, they came out to my house to repair it, did a great job and i think it was under a $100 aswell.

As said in the first post they need to make the chip a bit bigger as its
started to split and there is a possibility of it carcking the whole thing
hence looking for prices on a new windscreen.

Would love to just get it fixed but liked to be prepared if it doesn't work out.
