Default Wheels Car Of The Year

I'm baffled as to how, by any logical means, the GTR didn't even make the final four. As far as I know Australian Deliveries of the GTR DID start in 2009, right?

Hehe, my mum drives a Golf. And yes, it's a very good car but I'm sure there are plenty of other cars out there we'd all rather have.

It Wheels mag. Their opinion is based on who bought the most ad space that year.

This.

Plus in my opinion the GTR should never win such a competition, it does absolutely nothing for me at all and is going to be the death of targa rallying in Aus.

It appears the reason they ditched the GTR is because they considered the ride too harsh, the twin clutch gearbox to be not smooth enough at low speeds and the rear seat unusable. They also had complaints about it's 1700kg weight.

I think those comments are unreasonable, personally. They were prepared to condone the Prius' unremarkable dynamics because it was 'good for it's class'

I'd wager that the "class" of person who buys a GTR isn't a softcock who needs a facial and manicure every second day, and who wouldn't even register these so called "shortcomings"

Having said that I don't have an issue with the Golf winning, (based on Wheels selection criteria) but the GTR should have been in the final four.

I think you're one of the only people in the world to think that
