Give DT Workforce a call and get a job app sent out from them. We have a heap of truck driving, mill worker, drill and blast jobs going in Telfer.

Other companies to try are
Intergrated workforce
Westaff
Workpac
Simons engineering
Kerfields
ESS (Eurest)

Are these jobs for qualified / skilled people? Do they have many positions for unskilled people?

Glen.

Interesting.

I'd be keen for FIFO work if it was $80+k - Are there IT jobs in that sector? Pete?

Glen - They are chasing a few qualified people but for things like truck driving (ie CAT 793c haul trucks...aka tonka trucks) and TA (trades assistant) jobs, they hire unskilled people also and train them up.

There are planty of IT jobs available for FI FO jobs also. We have our own IT department here also.

I dont have the number but Newcrest Mining is located at the Hyatt in Perth. If you give them a call im sure they can direct you to where you want to go.

FIFO is a pretty fucked lifestyle tho... Always tired, stuffed up sleep patterns, your week off consists of 'trying' to catch up with everyone, paying bills and running out of time to do stuff. But, it is the easist way to earn good money.

That dish washing jobs for $100000 do exist, but to be honest... the job is really fucked. If you want to clean dishes in a hot kitchen for 12hours a day... then it maybe suited for you....but that for 12hours a day 5 weeks in a row...... NO Thanks

All my mates went to uni, and as Stace said... all owe big HECS bills, work at maccas and always study to end up earning $30000pa.......... most mining jobs start at $65000 and go upto $130000pa and thats just to be operators (drive trucks)

It is getting beter though, there are some good rosters around the place now compared to the usual 2 week on 1 week off night/day roster.

9 days on 5 off is now widespread (unskilled jobs for operators, samplers, drillers), 8 days on 6 off gaining popularity, and some with 8/6 days-7/7 nights too.

Forget the 5:1 dish washing roster! Dollars per hour is probably pretty average anyway, even if its $80-100k pa.
