England had a brilliant run through qualifiers, so I'd rate them highly. Can't stand the diving poofs from Italy, so I hope they die in a fire in the group stage.

As much as I would like to see the Aussies do well (I bought my team shirt today ), I don't think we will be able to scrape through to the knockout stage like last time. But I would love to be proven wrong!

Spain should take but who know's.

Italy defiantly wont win this time, england and brazil have a fairly good chance.

I think spain will knock out england before the Grand Final though.

I would have backed the Spaniards as favourites but with Torres and Fabregas still in doubt, I'm not so sure. The poms on the other hand are relatively injury free, cruised through qualifying and have a relatively easy group so they're probably my top pick - provided that they don't choke like they have in every other world cup post 1966

If Australia play the way they did throughout most of today's match, we won't have much to cheer about in South Africa. We got the result but were extremely lucky and the opposition wasn't anywhere near the calibre of group stage opponents Germany, Serbia or Ghana. Let's hope that they can step up and snatch a point from the Germans - it's fair game after that.

Serbia have a quality side with a good mix of experience and young talent. Conceding only one goal in qualifying and topping the group ahead of France was a pretty good achievement. The worst thing is, they will probably finish second in their group and have to take on England in the round of 16. Fingers crossed though.

I'd love to see Serbia and Australia knock the Germans out of the cup

I think Spain and England will both top their groups meaning that they can't meet until the final.
If one of them finishes second in their group and other finishes first, they could meet in the semi-final.
Either way, it would be one hell of a game!

2 world cups they got knocked out because they had players sent off so were forced to play with 10. They've choked in a few penalty shoot outs. But I wouldn't have said they had the best team. But now they are in the top 3 & have a good draw and have the 2nd best striker in the world.
