yeah next time im in the market for a cruiser I'll give you a shout

PLC+touch screen setup is purely electrical, basically you can program one to run relays (since PLCs put out LV 24V outputs) to electrical components and get them to start/stop do whatever you want to (just program it this way).

Hence the idea of an auto retic controller which would detect if the grass/trees are dry/damp (4-20mA analog sensors can be wired into the PLC) and start each retic section accordingly. I'd use it for starting the pool pump, a/c lights around the house etc. Then mount a touch panel somewhere on the wall and with one thing you can control the whole house...electrically. It's even possible to throw a phone dialler so you could use your phone to start/stop different things whilst you're out of the house

However it doesnt do mp3/computer sort of buisness...probably no good with CCTV recording either as it doesnt have enough storage.

So thats not a good solution if you want everything integrated in one

Bump.

Given up on the original idea because I am not a good guinea pig but I want to collate all of my and my mates dvd's and put them on one epic hard drive.

So my questions are what is the best software to use.
If I want to put them onto my Ipad I have to convert them to MP4. When you convert them do they lose any quality?

Thanks

Brendon
